Children's Ministries
Children's Ministry is all about preparing kids for the great adventure of life. This occurs during the Sunday School hour (9:30am-10:30am). Here's where children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade meet friends, talk about God, and participate in a time of meaningful worship. The children are organized into small group settings by grade levels. Each group has a designated Shepherd (leader) that facilitates discussion each week in a particular area of focus such as spiritual formation, prayer, missions, and worship. One central biblical story/message is the focus each month.
Following the group discussion, the children are escorted to one of our four activity centers:
Bible Game Zone
Here the children play games to reinforce their understanding of the month's bible story/message. Games can include relay races and seek-n-finds.
The Shepherd’s Inn
In the Shepherd’s Inn, the children participate in an interactive story requiring them to engage in the story and explore the meaning of the story through facilitated discussions.
Mountaintop Productions
Here the children view a video that corresponds to the month's Bible story/message — popcorn is included!
Stargazer Theatre
In the theatre, children have an opportunity to act out the month's Bible story/message using a wide range of props and costumes. Here you can see their true imaginations at work!
Each group and activity center is led by caring, adult leaders that are interested in getting to know your child(ren), engaging in meaningful discussion, and collaborating on some extremely fun activities.
Children’s Ministry also includes events such as Vacation Bible School and Fabulous Fridays for Fantastic Kids. On Sunday evenings, children’s ministry offers quizzing and children’s choir. Additionally, West Chester Nazarene offers a puppet ministry entitled Uplifted. This ministry is open to children grades four through twelve.
